Valentino ‘Rockstud’ ballerina flats at shop.nordstrom.com ($760)
I’ve always been a sucker for good heels but a cool pair of flats can be pretty chic too. Lately I’ve been seeing them more and more on well dressed women and celebs. There are some great pointed-toe flats and oxfords (and some interesting combinations of both styles) available right know. And when paired with the right outfit, they can have every bit of an impact as a stylish pair of heels. Pointed-toe flats look chic with jeans, skinny pants or a pencil skirt. If you’re in for a splurge, Valentino’s Rockstud ballerina flats (above) are especially striking. The other day, I saw a fashionable lady downtown wearing them with a well cut skirt and a loose sleeveless blouse and thought it was very ‘work chic’). A cool pair of oxfords also looks hip with everything from a suit to a favourite pair of skinny jeans.
Here are some solid options of both styles.
