Angelina was recently honoured for her endless global philanthropic work at the Governor Awards in LA. And once again, she looked totally stunning on the red carpet. Not a shocker that she wore black or that it was Atelier Versace, which seems to be her go-to designer now for major red carpet events. And I think the sheer lace gown with crystal beading was a nice choice. It’s lovely, elegant and somewhat demure (not a word often associated with Versace). It suits her, fits perfectly and I’m sure moved beautifully as she moved down the red carpet and walked across the stage. The simple hair and minimal accessories completed her look. Clearly, Angelina’s Atelier Versace gowns are made especially with her in mind because they’re not the over-the-top, loud and revealing dresses we’ve come to typically expect from Donatella.
This particular dress may not be a big stretch for Angelina but she doesn’t seem like she’s into making a big statement with her major red carpet choices. She has other – much more important – things to focus on. Interestingly, that evening Angelina was the youngest person ever to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award – a huge honour. Here’s her lovely acceptance speech that night. Beautiful and insightful.
