When I think of Cinco de Mayo, I think of vibrant colours, floral patterns and accessories – and big bold jewels. And no one represented the look more than iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Her influential and iconic style is a perfect one to emulate for a fun Cinco de Mayo event. Statement earrings, tons of bangles, hair tied back adorned with flowers and long dresses are the way to go for this look.
But if bold bright colours aren’t your thing, there’s another look with a Mexican flair that works great too. Famed Mexican actress, María Félix, considered one of the most important actresses in Latin American cinema, was also known for a timeless and iconic look that’s still emulated often today.
