When some of the city’s top event professionals get together to throw a party, you know it’s going to be a good one. HUSTLE, an annual fundraiser for Mealshare, produced by the Calgary chapter of the International Special Events Society, is definitely one of those events. This year’s theme is “rock star after-party” so the night’s sure to be a memorable one (or forgettable one, depending on how much of a rock star you become – if you know what I mean).
HUSTLE is happening this Thursday at Standard, a cool spot to recreate a true underground experience. Attendees can look forward to a night of entertainment, three awesome experiential live auction packages, five catering partners (including Mealshare partners Teatro, Briggs Kitchen & Bar and Craft), Lethrbar 2.0 (custom leather bracelets from talented Calgary designer Kat Marks), and an marathon dance party.
As with any great event, the big – and most important question – for partygoers becomes: what to wear? And a fun theme like a rock star after-party provides for a lot of creativity and inspiration when thinking about the perfect outfit. When it comes to high fashion, few legendary design houses are celebrating the “rock star” look more than Hedi Slimane designing for Saint Laurent. Both his fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection for women and his fall 2015 menswear collection (photos above) were once again homages to musicians with an edge.
So when deciding on what outfit to “rock” (no pun intended) at HUSTLE this year, think about your inner rock star and what he or she would wear to a super cool after-party. Whether you’re woman or man, consider leather jackets, leather pants or black jeans, animal prints, layered jewels, dark eyes and of course sunglasses.

Whoever your inner rock star is, get edgy and be prepared to hustle. Visit calgaryhustle.com for tickets and more info.
