Some years are more exciting than others, and this year’s Emmy red carpet definitely impressed with many memorable looks. For example, as if we don’t be talking about Jane Fonda’s ponytail for years. And I loved seeing so many legendary veteran actresses totally slay it on the red carpet looking better than ever. Along with Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lang, Michelle Pfeiffer and Judith Light all stunned and showed their much younger acting counterparts how it’s done. A great dress paired with experience and confidence is hard to beat. Here’s a rundown of some of this year’s most talked about looks.

Oscars 2015 – Hits & Misses

Well, as far as the dresses go, it was an interesting year. A lot of safe choices and a few risks – some worked and some didn’t. Usually when I see a red carpet look, I know immediately if I like it or not but this year there were a few I had to ponder. There was no one particular dress that blew me away but there were definitely some memorable looks – and a couple of unfortunate ones. Either way, some of the more daring looks appeared after the ceremony at the after-parties. If only people could have that much fun at the main event… So in no particular order, here it goes.

More Red Carpet Looks at the SAG Awards

The stars turned up on the red carpet again Sunday night at the 2015 SAG Awards, which is generally considered the most likely predictor of the Oscars. In terms of the red carpets looks, the night was relatively tame – and not overly exciting – but there were a few notable style standouts. Lupita Nyong’a was back on top of her style game and Emma Stone once again killed it.
