A few friends have told me about The Room at the Bay on Queen Street in Toronto and how great it is but I had no idea – none – that it was that good. The extent they’ve gone to carry some of the best fashion brands in the world is super impressive. Brands like Giambattista Valli, Rodarte, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Balmain, Proenza Schouler, Mathew Williamson, Moschino and Azzedine Alaïa. These brands are not only some of the best and most sought after brands by true fashion people but many of them aren’t especially easy to come by in Canada. The merchandising was also well done and I loved the way the mannequins were styled. And they had some awesome jewelry. The whole place was pretty chic. So different than any other Bay. Like really, really nice. Luckily for shoppers in Vancouver, The Room opened there in the fall of 2011 and is one is also set to open in Montreal soon. For dudes like me, let’s hope Calgary is next.
