Rubaiyat in Calgary is hands down, without a doubt, no questions asked, one the best stores in Canada. The store itself is stunning and everything in it is totally awesome. Not only do they have one of the best selections of jewellery in the country, they also have an incredible collection of art glass, indoor and out door furnishings, wall art, pewter and, as my very fancy Nana used to say, “objet d’art” (works of art with artistic merit). The owners (Pam, David, Morgan and Crosby Haight) and all the staff are also totally lovely and super helpful.
So if you’ve never been to Rubaiyat, you have to check it out. And this time of year is one of the best times to go because their Christmas displays are incomparable. The displays sprawl over 8500 square feet of gallery space and are totally outstanding. It can take upwards of three months to get the store prepared for the holidays. If you are looking for a special gift or some amazing jewels to wear at a holiday party, this is the spot. It’s perfect for Christmas shopping because they’ll even wrap your gifts while you enjoy the amazing Christmas displays. Rubaiyat is a must at Christmas – trust me.
