My good buddy Dean Davidson is having a truck show at Holts during December. And I was supper flattered that he asked me to go and represent the line and talk about the pieces yesterday. It was fun to chat with all the jewellery sales associates about the specifics of the line and talk about every piece in detail. It was awesome – I felt like I was totally in my element. Dean’s line is modern, dramatic and super good looking. His latest collection was influenced by his love of architecture. All the pieces are a soft brushed metal, which is Dean’s signature. The shapes are clean, linear and super flattering. As part of his work’s evolution, he wanted to include more colour in the new collection so he added beautifully cut semi precious stones, including smokey quartz, labradorite, lapis and black onyx. The gold pieces are 22K gold plated and the silver pieces are rhodium plated.
He’s received a lot of editorial coverage lately and has been featured in Marie Claire, Vogue, InStyle, Flare and Elle Canada. Many of the pieces are great statement pieces but they are also just really good looking and chic. The price point is also good, with earrings in the $100-$200 range and bracelets and necklaces, ranging from $150-$400.
Two are my favourite pieces are the Sliced Cuff ($285 – above) and the Runway Earrings ($185 – below). The earrings are so chic – modern elegance. And cuff is awesome. A great updated version of a classic wide cuff. Both pieces look great on. Dean’s truck show is on at Holts until the end of December. You can also buy directly from his website.
I love the line and I’m happy Dean is doing so well with it. His success is well deserved.
