PARKSHOW has done it once again. The eighth instalment of the much-loved event, presented by Chinook Centre, was a massive success. Over 700 well-dressed guests, including fashion lovers, artists, bloggers and local influencers enjoyed a night full of fashion, art and creativity. I had the pleasure of being invited to attend the annual fashion and art showcase featuring rising designers from across Canada and the amount of talent in the room was inspiring.

Taking place in the north parkade at Chinook, the area was transformed into an ocean-inspired space with art installations by new media visual and performing artist Jeannie Vallis. VIP guests were treated to cocktails and food from Double Zero in a private area, not to mention some super impressive gift bags (love the Marc Jacobs lapel pins). The main event – two huge fashion shows – took place later in the evening. Models came from some of the city’s top agencies including Sophia Models InternationalMode Models International, Numa ModelsImages International Model Management and The Nobles Management.

Looks for men were well represented.

Featured clothing, jewellery and accessory designers included headliner Eliza Faulkner of Vancouver, with Bano eeMee of Calgary, CoutuKitsch of Calgary, Forge Apparel of Calgary, Lennard Taylor Design Inc. of Winnipeg, LUXX Ready to Wear of Edmonton, Suka Clothing of Edmonton, S.P. BADU of Calgary, Vivian Lee Designs of Toronto/Calgary and 6Streets of Calgary. Numerous pop-up shops also highlighted local designers – it’s always fun to shop at a party – throughout the evening. After the impressive fashion shows, the night wrapped up with an awesome after-party at Double Zero Chinook – a great way to end such a fun event.
