Greta Constantine Celebrates 10 Fashion-Forward Years

Runway looks at Greta Constantine’s fall 2016 collection (photos:

Greta Constantine, the popular Toronto-based fashion line, closed Toronto Fashion Week recently with a bang as the design duo celebrated their 10th anniversary with an memorable runway presentation. Designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong left the audience in awe as they put on the most exciting and high-energy show of the week. It was a pleasure to attend and witness such a fun and empowered collection. The marching band that closed the show with their rendition of Pharrel’s Happy was particularly cool, and literally had the crowd dancing in their seats.   Continue reading “Greta Constantine Celebrates 10 Fashion-Forward Years”

Oscar Red Carpet Recap on CTV Morning Live

CTV Casey Wagar

Chatting Oscar fashions with CTV Morning Live Host Aisling Tomei and Ryan Massel.

The biggest red carpet of the year is sure to get all fashion lovers talking.  So it’s always a pleasure to be a part of the annual CTV Morning Live Oscar red carpet recap. I was happy to head back to Calgary to discuss the good, the mediocre and the unfortunate (Heidi Klum usually makes this category) on the popular morning show. Oscars Red Carpet Breakdown

I think many of us can agree this year’s Oscars weren’t the most exciting – that includes the red carpet and the show itself. As we discussed on CTV Morning Live when I appeared for the annual Oscar style recap segment, there were some debatable looks but it didn’t feel like there were many that were universally loved. At least we can be thankful for Heidi Klum – and her unfortunate choices. Because lately on the red carpet, she’s become the gift that just keeps on giving.  Continue reading “Oscars Red Carpet Breakdown”

Some Favourite Fancy Oscar Dresses

Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga (2007), Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford (2012), Michelle Williams in Vera Wang (2006) and Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture (2011).

As we approach the Oscars this weekend, it’s always fun to look back at some of the best and most memorable dresses from the past. Over the years at the Oscars, we’ve seen how some stars know how to work it effortlessly and just radiate style and confidence on the red carpet (Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda) while others have fun with fashion and don’t take it as seriously (Cher, Lady Gaga). And there’s definitely room for both. There are too many great dresses from the past to mention here so I should preface the list by pointing out that these are only SOME of my favourites – I could go on and on about many more.  Continue reading “Some Favourite Fancy Oscar Dresses”

This Year’s Grammys Red Carpet Needed Rihanna

Adele, Lady Gaga, STUD Sam Hunt and model Bella Hadid (photos via and

For the most part, I was a little underwhelmed by the red carpet this year at the Grammys. There were a few good looks but none that were as exciting or as unforgettable as Rihanna in that incredible pink Giambattista Valli Couture dress last year. She was supposed to perform but had to cancel at the last minute, which was too bad because chances are everyone would be talking about what she wore this week. Now less than two weeks to go before the biggest red carpet of the year!   Continue reading “This Year’s Grammys Red Carpet Needed Rihanna”

Cate Blanchett Steels the Show at the BAFTAs

The 69th BAFTA awards took place on Sunday night and while the prestigious British awards show is usually a pretty accurate predictor of who will win the Oscar at the end of the month, the BAFTAs this year were about one thing only – Cate Blanchett’s incredible McQueen gown. That is one fancy dress. More on Blanchett and some of the night’s other notable looks, below.  Continue reading “Cate Blanchett Steels the Show at the BAFTAs”

Red Carpet Watch Continues With SAG Awards

SAGS red carpet

Awards season is now in full swing and continued on Saturday with the SAG awards. Like the Golden Globes, there’s less pressure at the SAGs so it seems like stars are often willing to be a little more daring in terms of their style choices, and this year was no exception. That’s a good thing for fashion lovers because it’s red carpets like this that make it more fun to watch, analyze and think about. Continue reading “Red Carpet Watch Continues With SAG Awards”

Golden Globes Gowns – 2016 Red Carpet Breakdown

GG 2016
Jennifer Lopez in Giambattisa Valli, Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture, Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture and Julianne Moore in Tom Ford.

As always, the Golden Globes remain one of the best red carpets of the year to watch because the stars tend to be less reserved and have more fun with their choices than we often see at the Oscars when the pressure is so huge. We saw many great looks this year at the Globes – some unexpected and debatable ones – and then there was Katy Perry. Which was pretty much universally panned.  Continue reading “Golden Globes Gowns – 2016 Red Carpet Breakdown”

The Supers Are Back. Cindy, Claudia And Naomi Reunite For Balmain

Iconic supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell pose with Olivier Rousteing.

HOLY SHIT. Nothing makes me more excited than when my favourite supermodels from the 90s reunite. Thanks to Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, it’s happened once again for a fashion campaign dreams are made of – at least my dreams. Legendary supermodels Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell star in Balmain’s new Spring 2016 campaign and, of course, it’s incredible.  Continue reading “The Supers Are Back. Best Red Carpet Moments of 2015

Best Dressed 2015
Some tops looks in 2015: Julianne Moore in Armani Privé, Rihanna in Giambattista Valli, Beyoncé in Givenchy, Jane Fonda in Valentino and Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell.

When I was a teenager, every year I anxiously waited for InStyle‘s annual list of the best dresses of the year. I often agreed and more often disagreed, and thought of all the looks they missed. Now it’s cool to be able to make my own annual list. In 2015, we saw many impressive and memorable looks and, as always, some unfortunate ones (looking at you Heidi Klume). But let’s focus on the positive. Like Rihanna. And Amal Clooney. And Jane Fonda, who had many incredible moments on the red carpet this year, and showed time and time again how she continues to defy any logic to do with aging.  Continue reading “Best Red Carpet Moments of 2015”
