After successful events in Toronto and Vancouver, Monogram Dinner by Design made its debut in Calgary last week in the main lobby of ACAD. The unique event – the brain child of The Social Concierge, highlights well known and respected interior designers, decorators and other members of the design community by bringing them together to create incredible three-dimensional dinning installations. Seven talented local designers, including Alykhan Velji, Connie Young and Amanda Hamilton, created lavish and elaborate one-of-a-kind custom dinning spaces. And they were beyond fancy. PARKSHOW2015 – Celebrating Canadian Fashion, Art And Creativity

PARKSHOW has done it once again. The eighth instalment of the much-loved event, presented by Chinook Centre, was a massive success. Over 700 well-dressed guests, including fashion lovers, artists, bloggers and local influencers enjoyed a night full of fashion, art and creativity. I had the pleasure of being invited to attend the annual fashion and art showcase featuring rising designers from across Canada and the amount of talent in the room was inspiring.

Embrace Your Inner Rock Star – Saint Laurent Style – At HUSTLE

When some of the city’s top event professionals get together to throw a party, you know it’s going to be a good one. HUSTLE, an annual fundraiser for Mealshare, produced by the Calgary chapter of the International Special Events Society, is definitely one of those events. This year’s theme is “rock star after-party” so the night’s sure to be a memorable one (or forgettable one, depending on how much of a rock star you become – if you know what I mean). There’s an inherent connection between fashion and raising awareness for important social causes. And a unique one was ignited this past Tuesday during Toronto Fashion Week (WMCFW). #TheGaySweater, the world’s first and only 100% ‘gay’ object, made its debut at David Peacut Square, the centre of WMCFW. Bella Returns With A Bang With Alberta’s Largest Fashion Show Ever

Last week, over 700 of Calgary’s most fashionable philanthropists and party goers enjoyed one of the most stylish evenings Calgarians have seen in a long time at Bella – Calgary’s premier fashion event. The sold out fundraiser, presented by Holt Renfrew and Calgary Health Trust, impressively helped raise over $500,000 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Foothills Medical Centre and the funds will help create the only in-born Level III Tertiary Care Unit in southern Alberta.

Last week, Power of Privé, a brand-positioning consulting agency based in Toronto, brought their unique talents and expertise to the Calgary market for the first time for a private trunk show with Montreal-based fur designer Lysa Lash. And what a pleasure it was. POP founders Vanessa Mulroney and Jane Hanrahan have incomparable experience working with global luxury brands, including introducing many of them to the Canadian market. Holt Renfrew Presents LOOK2014: It’s Time To Get Fancy

There’s no shortage of fancy events this fall in Calgary but LOOK2014 is definitely not one to be missed. Calgary’s iconic Centennial Planetarium comes back to life on November 1 for an unforgettable night supporting Contemporary Calgary, a new organization (formed through the merger of the Art Gallery of Calgary, the Museum of Contemporary Art Calgary and the Institute of Modern and Contemporary Art) dedicated to celebrating modern art in Calgary. Presented by Holt Renfrew and with support from Enbridge and the Calgary Herald, with honorary Event Chairs Ann & Morris Dancyger, and Mark Tewksbury & Rob Mabee, LOOK2014 is going to be a super chic event unlike many others.
