I once again had the pleasure of being part of the annual Oscar red carpet recap on CTV Morning Live with three talented and beautiful ladies – host Aisling Tomei, stylist Taylor McDonald and photographer and publicist Aldona Barutowicz. As always, we had blast. There are few things I enjoy more than talking about fancy dresses. Check out the full clip here. Looking forward to next time! And check out my full blog post on many of the most talked about Oscars looks this year.
Cindy Crawford’s New Book – Becoming
Like many supermodel fans – and gays – I’ve been a huge fan of Cindy Crawford since I was a teenager. When I was in junior high, her photos and many Vogue covers covered my locker and bedroom walls. So I couldn’t have been more excited when Crawford announced releasing her new book Becoming (in anticipation of her upcoming 50th birthday in February), which chronicles her legendary career as one of the original supermodels. Lapel Pins For Fancy Dudes
Men have so many more options these days in terms of expressing themselves through how they dress – and accessorize. While I’ve always been a huge fan of men’s accessories, lately I have a new found interest in lapel pins. And they seem to be growing in popularity because we’re seeing a lot more of them. Holt Renfrew Kicks Off Calgary Stampede With Holts Hats Off
In anticipation of this year’s Calgary Stampede, Holt Renfrew recently held its second annual Holts Hats Off event by teaming up with a super impressive group of talented Canadian designers to benefit the Calgary Health Trust. Designers, including Anzie, my good buddy Dean Davidson, Mackage, Tanya Taylor (who’s so lovely and now based in NYC), Ron White, Naked & Famous and Marie Saint Pierre, created one-of-a-kind Smithbilt cowboy hats to be auctioned during the private charity shopping event. This year, the live auction was hosted by Etalk’s Ben Mulroney, who charmed the crowd and helped raise a considerable amount for charity. Getting Tough & Fancy for the CORE’s New Ad Campaign
A few weeks ago, I was asked to be in a new ad for the CORE (Calgary’s awesome downtown shopping centre) along with model Lauren Barrie, of The Nobles (below). And I course I said yes because it’s all about new and fun experiences. The campaign promotes the CORE’s parking services, which include complimentary valet parking (applicable parking fees apply) and free parking after 4 pm on weekdays and Saturday and Sundays. Nordstrom’s Fancy “Hello, Calgary – We Like Your Style” Campaign
Calgary is soon to get a little fancier. Nordstrom, the legendary American department store, is finally making its way across the border and it’s set to open its first Canadian store in Calgary on Friday, September 19th. And many fashion loving Calgarians couldn’t be happier and more excited.
Because it’s the retail giant’s first venture outside the U.S., they’re doing a excellet job of getting out in the community and making themselves a respected part of the city. As part of their efforts to get to know fashion loving Calgarians, they enlisted top blogger and photographer (and my friend) Ania Boniecka and her husband, photographer Tyler Stalman, to shoot 100 people in Calgary for a very cool and unique campaign featuring stylish Calgarians in various parts of the city. I was super flattered and excited when Ania asked me and my mom to take part. I felt so fancy! Continue reading “Nordstrom’s Fancy “Hello, Calgary – We Like Your Style” Campaign”
