At 49, Sandra Bullock’s looking better than ever lately. She looks confident, healthy and happy – proving that being almost 50 is awesome. She’s also been nailing every one of her red carpet looks while doing press for Gravity over the last couple months. Late last week she attended a Q&A session for her hit movie rocking a black leather pencil skirt, a chic black top with lace sleeves and a pair of black pointy toe stilettos. It’s a simple, good-looking outfit.  Continue reading “Sandra Bullock – Cool & Sexy in Black Leather Pencil Skirt”

H&M Christmas With Christy

hm-christmas

Legendary supermodel Christy Turlington stars in H&M’s holiday campaign, alongside models of the moment Liu Wen and Doutzen Kroes. But Christy definitely steals the show. Look at that face? She truly is a timeless beauty. It’s so cool to see her still going strong after all these years. Cindy Crawford has always said that Christy Turlington is the most beautiful women she’s ever seen and was the best supermodel in the 90s. I think it’s safe to say she still is today. She has a classically elegant look that outshines most models half her age. And more importantly, she seems super cool and aware of herself. She’s also a dedicated philanthropist and does a lot of good work with her charity Every Mother Counts that’s focused on helping stop preventable deaths for women during child birth around the world.  Continue reading “H&M Christmas With Christy”

Alexis Bittar Gets Fancy With Fine Jewelry Collection

Alexis-Bittar-Launches-Fine-Jewelry-Pictures

I’ve been a fan of Alexis Bittar’s for quite a few years now. His designs are cool, different and a reasonable price range. The New York based designer experienced a huge surge in popularity years ago after his jewelry was often featured on Sex and the City. Holt Renfrew has a big selection of his work and you can easily find it on many shopping sites like saksfifthavenue.com, neimanmarcus.com and nordstrom.com. You can even purchase directly from alexisbittar.com. Bittar also now has stores in Manhattan, Connecticut, West Hollywood, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. His flagship stores are the best places to get his work because they carry editorial pieces that can’t be found online or in other boutiques or department stores.  Continue reading “Alexis Bittar Gets Fancy With Fine Jewelry Collection”

Fancy LOTW – Diane Kruger in Chanel

Diane Kruger has awesome taste and a super talented stylist. She always chooses clothes well. She’s fashion forward but wears clothes that suit her. Kruger just gets it and seems to have fun with fashion – which is how it should be. Here she is in a chic embellished little black strapless dress at the Chanel Little Black Jacket Event in Sao Paulo. Interesting, the dress is a modified version this one from the legendary fashion house’s spring 2013 haute couture collection. She completes the look with her favourite black-ankle strap Stuart Weitzman sandals, a nice simple compliment to the heavily detailed dress.  Her hair is perfect and soft and the makeup is light and fresh. Once again, Diane nailed her red carpet look.  Continue reading “Fancy LOTW – Diane Kruger in Chanel”

Hip and Fancy Cat-Eye Sunglasses

Elizabeth and James cat-eye sunglasses ($289)

Cat-eye sunglasses are super hot right now. There’s just something intrinsically fancy about them. Although they may seem a little out there for many women, they’re actually super flattering. The angle of the outer edge elevates the eyes. There’s also a timeless quality to them. Although the shape first became popular in the 1950s, there’s a new take on look. And the current design is a cool dichotomy because it’s both modern and vintage looking at the same time. Elizabeth and James (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s design studio) has some of the coolest cat- eye glasses available right now. They have numerous shapes and colours of the style but I especially love the round cut-out lens option above. Tom Ford and Prada also nail the look. And Marc by Marc Jacobs does a solid (and more affordable) version as well.  Continue reading “Hip and Fancy Cat-Eye Sunglasses”

Jane Fonda – Fancy As Ever

Jane Fonda-20131009-36

Few people are as fancy as Jane Fonda. She’s amazing – and I don’t use that word often. She just gets it. I often say that she’s single handedly changed the way people age. SHE’S 75!! And what’s so cool about her is that she doesn’t look too fake (Joan Rivers). Sure, she’s had some work done (admittedly) but she still looks like herself and she’s allowed herself to age. And not only is she fancy, she seems super cool and fun. Here she is at the Women’s Media Awards wearing skinny jeans, a long pearl necklace and an awesome sequin jacket blazer. This is a super chic look. I’m really into sequin blazers right now (I have one myself).  Continue reading “Jane Fonda – Fancy As Ever”

Fancy LOTW: Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham

341x560

Beckham has achieved pretty impressive (not to mention surprising) success as a fashion designer. And for good reason. She’s good. Really good. And she obviously designs with herself in mind. While attending the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Event at the Chateau Marmont earlier this week, she wore a super cool sheer blouse accented with interesting black panels paired a well cut short black skirt both from her Spring 2014 collection – which I loved. The opened toed shoes are also from the collection and were shown with the same blouse on the runway. This is a good look. It’s modern and sexy but still feminine. Her hair also looks great pulled back and the gladiators with gradient lenses are the perfect accessory for the simple and chic look.  Continue reading “Fancy LOTW: Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham”

Cindy Crawford’s Fancy Villa in Los Cabos

Nothing makes me happier when two of my favourite things come together –especially when it’s fancy homes and 90s supermodels. Architectural Digest’s November issue features the incredible side-by-side vacation homes Cindy and her husband Randy Gerber built with their bestie George Clooney. Located on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja peninsula, they named the property “Casamigos” which means “House of Friends”. Continue reading “Cindy Crawford’s Fancy Villa in Los Cabos”

Gisele’s Fancy & 80s Vogue Paris Cover

November’s issue of Vogue Paris, featuring Gisele and shot by Inez Vinood, is pretty much perfection. She looks incredible – one of her best covers ever. But what I love most about this cover is the styling. The close-up of her face, the slightly open mouth and the way her hand is holding the collar of her jacket is super 80s. And super awesome. It’s clearly paying homage to that great time in fashion when models used to reign the covers of fashion magazines. Nowadays, particularly in North America, celebrities now dominate the covers. And it’s never been quite the same. American Vogue covers in back in the day had a certain quality about them – they were glamorous and alive (some examples from the 80s are below). It’s how we grew to love so many of our favourite models. It was so exciting when you saw your fave on a cover. One July in the late 80s/early 90s Cindy Crawford was on the cover and I thought it was pretty much the universe’s way of wishing me a happy birthday. Those were the days.  Continue reading “Gisele’s Fancy & 80s Vogue Paris Cover”

Madonna in Awesome Black Trench Coat

Madonna with 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen

Attending a premiere last week in New York, Madonna looked super chic in an awesome black trench coat with black leather sleeves and collar. I’m really into this look. Leather detailing is huge right now and this particular coat couldn’t be cooler. It’s chic, modern and flattering. And I love the idea of wearing a trench coat for an evening look. Of course no one does this look as well as Burberry right now (thanks to Christopher Bailey) and I’m pretty sure this is Burberry but after some very extensive research (I love researching this kind of stuff) I haven’t been able to determine for sure. Even though I can’t find this exact coat online, I have found a couple of other options – likely way more affordable than the one Madonna’s wearing.  Continue reading “Madonna in Awesome Black Trench Coat”
